Andriivskyi Descent is the soul of old Kyiv, which makes you fall in love, opens the veil of history, landmarks and famous figures.<br />
It is a museum street that combines the upper city and the plain Podol. According to legend, Andriivskyi Descent got its name thanks to St. Andrew. Once there was a sea at the place of the Dnieper. When St. Andrew placed a cross on the top, the water receded and now St. Andrew's Church stands on this place.<br />
Today, Andriivskyi Descent is home to many of the most famous Kyiv sights, including: St. Andrew's Church, the monument to Pronya Prokopivna and Holokhvastov - the heroes of Mykhailo Starytskyi's play "Za Dvoma Zaytsyamy”, Richard's Castle, "One Street Museum", monuments to T. Shevchenko, Yaroslav Mudriy and Princess Olga.
